Toby Keith from a interview with Austin City Limits:
And the secret to love songs is to sing something to a female audience that a guy normally wouldn't tell her. That she's never heard before because a guy won't say that. Guys won't open up and say that. If you can find those things and say them then you'll have a big smash. You'll reach every woman with that. And the secret to the guys is finding something like "How Do You Like Me Now". Something that they can, go around 'hey,' and drink their beer and it's pretty easy. So if you keep those two things in mind you'll strike in a success a lot on the radio. |
