Past Good-Bye

I am in such a slump. I havent' been able to write anything for about a month now and it's killing me! Part of it's because a lot of what I wrote stemmed from emotion created by an internal conflict which, though it still exists, has shown resolution. So anyhow...
Well, I know this is off majorly. Maybe someone can say something to throw me back into writing mode. lol.

Raindrops break on the windshield
And fall in a crooked streak
Resembling the pattern
Of the tears on my cheek
Diamond ring on the dashboard
Screams just put the truck in drive
You may find an ounce of freedom
Beyond the county line

One last second guess
One more glance in the rearview
But all I see in the mirror
Are mem'ries of you

Gas on the right, push it to the floor
Two hands on the wheel to keep it straight
'Cause that northern star I once followed
Has gone to grey
Faded dreams and wasted years
Ol' Chevy take me outta here
From zero to sixty five
Get me past Good-bye

You came as a broken soul
Reachin' out to find a heart
Then you stole mine as I slept
And when I woke up in the dark
I only wanted to see the man
Who I thought I knew
But the twilight shadows revealed
The real you

Gas on the right, push it to the floor
Two hands on the wheel to keep it straight
'Cause that northern star I once followed
Has gone to grey
Faded dreams and wasted years
Ol' Chevy take me outta here
From zero to sixty five
Get me past Good-bye

Gas on the right, push it to the floor
Two hands on the wheel to keep it straight
'Cause that northern star I once followed
Has gone to grey
Faded dreams and wasted years
Ol' Chevy take me outta here
From zero to sixty five
Get me past Good-bye

I know I know I know, there's no focus, and no bridge, and it's far from being complete. But you guys have always known what to say to throw me back in the loop.
